Program and Teaching

The interdisciplinary design of the PhD Program aims at establishing literary studies as a fundamental discipline in cultural research and in the realm of media research. The PhD Program provides individual supervision as well as team mentoring for each doctoral candidate.

Doctoral candidates are required to participate in interdisciplinary colloquia and seminars.

The curriculum of the PhD Program consists of courses specifically designed for doctoral candidates:

interdisciplinary colloquia in which candidates report at length on the progress of their project and discuss their colleagues' projects

interdisciplinary seminars that examine contemporary methodological developments and new approaches in research through practical application

symposia, workshops and en-bloc seminars that allow for discussion of academic challenges and also provide room for planning of further research and events

guest lectures that address the main themes with which the program is concerned
