International Summer School Series
The PhD Program hosted three international summer schools in Munich from 2008 to 2010, financed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). PhD students from all over the world were invited to discuss the various forms of interplay between fiction and reality in literary texts with LMU lecturers and international experts .
The summer schools focused on three core themes:
• 2008: Resisting Texts: 1900-2008
• 2009: New Forms of Fiction: Exploring Blendings and Transgressions of
Fiction and Reality
• 2010: Fictionalising the World?
The essays presented at the summer schools were published in three volumes.
The PhD program hosted a summer school on „Representations of Horror in Contemporary Media and Culture” with the support of the Munich University Society in 2013.
